25|365 Look into the Mirror (1/29/11)

I played with my new camera today and Keith bought an Argus 75, produced between 1958 & 1964, for his vintage camera collection.  His camera is a twin lens reflex (TLR), which is a type of camera with two lenses. One takes the picture while the other is a viewfinder that has a 45-degree mirror (hence the word reflex).

Combining today’s efforts, here is a photo using my new camera, of the old, retired camera.  Does ‘retire’ count toward the ‘tired’ theme?  It does for me.

Now, I realize the project 365 is about posting only one photo a day but I think the viewfinder photo needs to accompany the photo of the camera because it helps you understand this type of camera.  Looking through the viewfinder, you can see what the image would be if we had film in the camera to take a picture.  Plus, you get to see the exquisite interior design of our garage.

Also of note: I think the temperature got up to 73 or so today, which is crazy for January in Oklahoma but don’t worry a winter storm is on its way.  I enjoyed being outside taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, temperatures, learning my new camera and spending time with my Mom.  While Keith was out today he also bought some accessories for my new camera.

24|365 The Eyes Have It (1/28/11)

I was on vacation today and Purrkins stayed busy supervising me instead of napping.  Consequently, by late this afternoon, he was bushed.  See for yourself.

Purrkins can hardly keep his eyes open and is showing his third eyelids.

Bushed.  Synonym: tired

Of note today:  My new Canon T2i arrived today!!!  This is one of the first photos I took with it and the details are so much nicer.  Since I upload a much reduced image size here, I’m not sure if it shows the difference as much online.  I have much to learn and this Project 365 is perfect to keep me learning incrementally and consistently,

23|365 There Goes The Sun (1/27/11)

Looking west from my backyard, I watch as daylight is exhausted. (synonym: tired)

22|365 The Last Drop (1/26/11)

Used up. synonym: tired.

I practiced tonight with fast shutter speeds to capture the last drop.  Be sure to click on the photo to make it bigger, if you haven’t already done that.  Never fear, I will fill my glass up again.

Of note today:  I received notification that the Canon T2i DSLR I ordered has been shipped and is estimated to arrive Friday.  Yeah!

21|365 Spell It Out (1/25/11)

In our junk drawer reside Allen wrenches, a carriage bolt & wingnut, chuck key, ball chain, hose clamp and a machine screw but tonight they gathered elsewhere to deliver a message.

The Digital Photography School theme for this week is tired.  I researched synonyms to help me come up with ideas for this theme and in the process I found an interesting visual thesarus.  Here’s the visual representation of synonyms for ‘tired’.
