Playing in the dirt

With spring arriving I began thinking about our flowerbeds and what we might want to do differently this year.  Yesterday Keith and I went to a nursery and decided on a few things.  We thinned out lots of the canna bulbs that we’ve enjoyed for several years (some shared with others) and now we’re going to plant two kinds of Nandina: Heavenly Bamboo and Firepower.

2014-03-29-14.20.01We also bought an Oakleaf Hydrangea to replace the Lamb’s Ears that has taken over a portion of a flowerbed and a couple replacement Gaillardia Pulchella commonly known as Indian Blanket flower.

Now, it’s time to play in the dirt!

To Nap or Not to Nap

Yesterday I read How Long to Nap for the Biggest Brain Benefits and decided to give it a try.  I wasn’t very productive yesterday before or after my nap.

It was the asphalt

2014-03-09-22.24.20This is what glasses look like when you fall face first on asphalt.  Ouch!  The glasses are a total loss but Mom sustained only minor cuts and bruises.
