305|365 The North 40 (11/5/11)

In 1991 we bought a simple mobile home and leased a spot in a trailer park at Lake Texoma. By 1996 we bought some land and moved our mobile home onto it.  A little later we bought additional land adjacent to it and had a little over 2.5 acres.  It wasn’t long after that my mother-in-law and brother-in-law bought the house and land adjacent to us there and our families enjoyed the 5 acres and two homes.

A little over a month ago we bought my brother-in-law’s portion of the house adjacent to us.  Since we bougtht this, just about every free day Keith and I have been working on it. We’ve been cleaning and painting the inside and soon we’re going to start working on screening in the front porch and several other projects.

With two places, we’ve had to figure out a way to refer to them.  Keith calls the small original ‘the south 40’ and the newer purchase ‘the north 40’.  Here’s the north 40 as it looked this afternoon.
