72|365 Oh Shamrocks! (3/17/11)

Several days ago Keith began the process of making corned beef in preparation for today, St. Patrick’s Day.  Obviously for dinner tonight we had a special treat of corned beef, cabbage, and red potatoes. Did you know that dish is American Irish? The History Channel website has several videos about the leprechaun, shamrock, corned beef & cabbage and St. Patrick that I found interesting and recommend watching.

The real, pressed shamrock in the frame was a souvenir from a trip my mother-in-law took to Ireland.

As an added treat tonight, Keith and Travis made green popcorn!  Look at it here.

An interesting Irish blessing I read today:

“May those who love us, love us; and those who don’t love us, may God turn their hearts; and if He doesn’t turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we’ll know them by their limping.”
