42|365 Fan Patience (2/15/11)
The ceiling fan in our living room has squeaked for years so we haven’t used it. We tried everything to fix it and we finally decided in November to replace it.
Do you know how difficult it is to find a basic, brass fan? All the fans that we found were the really fancy ones. We do not want the fan to be the focal point in the room. So, back in November, Keith found a place that ordered a basic, brass fan for us and they said it would take a few weeks to come in. After a few weeks they called to say the company was out of the basic fans and it was on back order until production started on them again. So we waited. And waited.
Today, three months later we got the fan!
So, right after dinner, Keith began putting the fan together, took the old one down and put the new one up. So far, so good. We’re ready for warmer days now.
This photo: While Keith was preparing the blades of the fan he was compelled to look at our cat who is not in the photo, chattering away as he supervised Keith’s work.
